“When Parker Met Guy” Page 1: Brushing Teeth
Thursday, January 1st, 2009Welcome back! Our return kicks off with the first Marry Me short story, When Parker Met Guy. It’s about — get this — how Guy and Parker met. Or at least it will be soon. It will probably run around 25 pages, and then we’ll start up another one right away.

Visually speaking only, this is hilarious. Each added person was (at least by me) entirely unexpected.

This is their wedding day! Not official yet, but that’s the new idea. And I realize that they’d still probably be wearing rings on the morning of their wedding, but there could be various reasons not to at this exact moment, so whatever.

That is the most crowded bathroom ever…
Okay, what I love:
-Denny being there
-that I logged on to read it again and instead find a new page
-that there’s five of them there
-that we zoom out from Guy’s teeth and stubble
-that this is apparently a normal thing for them
what I hate
-that I’m not in the comic
-that the movie hasn’t come out yet
-that I need a new place to live
In other words, THIS IS AWESOME! Parker = hilarity. She doesn’t even need the others. Well, she does, but still….teh funny.

Even though I own a lovely hardcover copy of the book, now and again I find myself coming back to read it, imagine my surprise to see folks brushing their teeth ^_^

Marry Me rocks, though i liked the first few parts better.
And i hate Guy. I usually hate “perfect” characters. I find myself rooting for villains most of the time. No wonder i hate Smallville (except for that season with darker themes).
But still love you. Keep it up.

No 1. reason for reading the comic – Guy is hot! Thank you Eisu for drawing such lovely looking men!
I read through it ages ago and I checked back because I knew you promised something new this year … and I loved it! I love the banter between Parker and Guy – are those the two you love writing the dialogue for the most, Bobby? And I am sorry but it took me awhile to determine if that was Janny or Parker’s girlfriend from the last strip of Marry Me (I must go back and check). The punchline is definitely the idea of all of them brushing their teeth at the same time including Denny.
Parker, Guy and Denny are my favourites. I wish you luck with getting this made into a movie and I hope that if you do get it made that it is an animation because I have severe doubts that any male actor can do Guy justice in terms of looks at the moment. I certainly can’t think of anyone other than perhaps Dean Cain but he’s too old for the part. So good luck to the two of you.
I hope you manage to continue the little stories about these characters indefinitely because I would definitely love to see more though I do understand that all stories have endings.

And Bobby, this is brilliant; I was wondering what you could possibly write as a sequel. I’m actually a little more interested in this story than I was in the original plot.
