whineyjerk Says: "Well guy will fix everything, after all he’s better than Jesus."
Actually Jesus was Guy's stunt double, because nails would not be able to pierce Guy's skin :) I stole that from a chuck norris fact, do not shoot me for it.

"There’s “Perfect” and then there’s “4th-wall-breakingly-improbably-perfect”"
Um... 4th wall means where the characters realize that they are in a comic strip, are fictional, and have knowledge of the real world.. The 'fourth wall' is the thing that separates their fictional world from our real world.

This is an example of a fourth wall breaking comic. Marry Me is definitely not a fourth-wall breaking comic.

Sara Says:
“Though to their defense; whineyjerk was probably referring to the more modernized terminology for the fourth wall. When the audience viewing fiction as though they were real events. Meaning the more believable and relatable a character is the easier it is for a person to believe the story and the events going along with it. Allowing the sense of “Yeah, I suppose that could happen” or a suspension of disbelief meaning they can put the small things aside and allow the story overall to enthrall them”

“When the audience viewing fiction as though they were real events.” That has nothing to do with the “fourth wall” or the breaking thereof. Your first definition regarding the “fourth wall” as a theater term is still the closest to the “modern terminology.” It’s very similar to the definition used in television and film. In comic books, web comics, and even modern literature, to “break the fourth wall” is to acknowledge the audience, whether directly or indirectly, and has absolutely nothing to do with the believability of the character. If we used your “modern” definition almost every action movie made in the last 30 years would have been “breaking the fourth wall” (James Bond comes to mind). In fact, the only time I have heard “breaking the fourth wall” being anything other than addressing the audience is its uncommon use when referring to science fiction, fantasy, or stories taking place in an altered history, where making reference to the real world (that which the audience lives in) would be fourth wall breakage because it indirectly addresses the audience by making reference to a world or existence that isn’t supposed to exist in the story, the real one. It’s arguable that Guy’s many skills may be interfering with the “suspension of disbelief” for some people, and that is probably what whineyjerk was trying to say. Those people obviously have no imagination, are ridiculously anal, or are just trying to be asshats and nit-pick the story apart. Needless to say what whineyjerk said and your “modern terminology” definition have nothing to do with the “fourth wall” or its breakability, whether you’re talking about TV, movies, or in this case, a graphic novel.

I should also note that the fourth wall, though originating in theater, is not even considered, strictly speaking, an acting term anymore, since it’s been used the last two decades in comics and other printed media, and the last decade in storied video games. Just thought you’d like to know.

P.S. If you really do like the comic, don’t defend assholes that rag on Bobby, unless there is a clear misunderstanding of what was meant, especially if you don’t even know what you are talking about.

Seems kind of silly to me. All these calamities and whatnot. Just seems like it's a bit much now.

Oh well. I'm still anticipatin' the next update!

Okay, so I'm sorry if this has been talked about before, but I really don't read the comments normally. I know that at the beginning, Bobby said something about the comic ending up at about 80 pages, there was something somewhere about it being wrapped up before the end of May. (Sorry, it's 3 am and I'm very tired.) Is this still the plan? I'm really wondering how he's going to bring it to a satisfying conclusion in the next 3 or so pages, if that's the case.

Again, sorry if this has already been addressed.

Now do we have to get into acting references here? Enjoying the comic in itself is enough, though I think the count of people complaining about something has gone up over two as previously predicted (or at least the nit picking).

Though technically speaking while the fourth wall is used in acting terms meaning that the audience is viewing a scene that should be in closed in a room, though that wall is not their physically it is still present. Actors carry out their rolls with out "breaking" the fourth wall, looking directly at, talking directly to (in some cases) the audience etc.

Though to their defense; whineyjerk was probably referring to the more modernized terminology for the fourth wall. When the audience viewing fiction as though they were real events. Meaning the more believable and relatable a character is the easier it is for a person to believe the story and the events going along with it. Allowing the sense of "Yeah, I suppose that could happen" or a suspension of disbelief meaning they can put the small things aside and allow the story overall to enthrall them.

Then again I could be completely off in understanding what he was trying to get at, though (again to his credit) that is the closest thing I could think of to anything that made sense in what he said.

*Adjusts glasses* Not arguing just perhaps clarifying...

Again I really do love the comic and with everything I had to deal with while on my way to becoming a teacher and the different cultures that come into play in large and small classes, speaking a different language (or a number of different languages) isn't that much of a stretch. Its nearly a required job skill in most areas.

Keep up the good work Bobby and Eisu.
