Oddly enough, Christian reminds me of one of my friends when he gets caught up with something. I have a hard time telling if he’s being deliberately stupid, truthfully too caught up in whats going on in his head to realize he’s wacky, or if he’s been going on a lack of sleep and making up for it with excessive amounts of sugar.

I think the assumption had more to do with her being the most charitable person alive and the fact that they don’t look like people who would be friends with a celebrity like her, especially since Parker is wearing a Stasia t-shirt. I doubt Britney’s friends wear Britney t-shirts while out with her.

It sounds like he hasn’t been getting any news from the states at all while out here. And although his guess was off, honestly I probably would have assumed the same kind of thing, or something similar. Because if you really haven’t heard what had happened, I doubt that “He’s your new husband that you married during a concert because he had a sign” would really be your first guess. He actually sounded fairly normal about considering he hasn’t been getting news from the states… although the outbreak guess was still a bit silly.

Mm, my guesses for Parker’s reaction:
A. Stasia and Christian’s breakup was bad, and Parker has a grudge against him for making her so unhappy.
B. Parker finally got over the fact that Guy is married to Stasia and now Parker feels slightly threatened for her friend that an ex has showed up.
Anyhow, wonderful page! I love this comic.

I still think there is an ulterior motive. Probably Stasia was the one that did the dumping and he’s trying to prove himself worthy. He seems a little…clingy.

There is probaly a few reasons why Christian assumes that Stasia is doing charity work. One well…..saddly they probaly dont look like people she would normaly be seen with. Two as pointed out with Parker wearing a Stasia shirt shows they are fans. And three…I’m sure Christian knows those are Stasia concert pants that Parker is wearing.
And with him being all of the sudden charitable in a place and for people he does not like is becuase he is trying to get Stasia back. Or maybe its becuase he is trying to prove himself to be better then what she thought of him to be since I’m assuming she dumped him. Or maybe….since Stasia is a sweet heart and is charitable and everything maybe she rubbed off on him. *shrugs* you never know.
Love all the expressions espiacly Parkers glare of death. It was probaly a messy break up. Can’t wait to see more.

Isn’t this the same Christian mentioned in the very first page of the comic? It has to be since I see all those “Stately Manor” T-shirts. M’kay… so now that he’s a big-time movie star and actually has money to spread around… it’s gotta be a publicity stunt. Some actors/actresses actually care about the cause they’re into… most give to charity for the good PR and the write-off as per the IRS. Either way, though - it wouldn’t require him to be there in person or to build his new tax shelter, nor to build it RIGHT ACROSS from Stasia’s place (wouldn’t that be counterproductive to spreading help/wealth all over Africa?). My bet: Yes, he’s trying to get back with her since it was probably his relationship with her that propelled him into his last role. Yes, he’s heard what happened or he wouldn’t have known to time his useless presence at the construction site (He’s an actor, not a foreman - and he doesn’t even play one on the big screen - plus, passing out T-shirts takes mere minutes). How he heard, I don’t know - there’s no cable or sattelite built into that new building of his yet. Maybe Stasia’s place has free wifi access. The stupid act (Yes, I say the actor is acting, and not very well either) is not very becoming, his annoyance factor was probably a far greater contributing factor than his negative response to charity/children (Most people come to like kids as maturity encroaches, before then… if the kids aren’t theirs, they are a screaming, stinky nuisance).

Allison: I’ve never ruled it out and I said it was ripe for sequels in the very first blog post. Lots of factors involved, like if Eisu will be available and if I’ll have the time for it (or if I can find a suitable co-writer to save time). Also depends on how popular it is at the time. It’s probable that a second GN wouldn’t start up until after the San Diego Comic-Con. We’ll see what happens.

Probably not going to happen, but I think it’d be a perfect moment for Parker to pull another ‘Pirate’ moment and pretend they’ve both infected with something messy and/or nasty.

Regarding the suggestions that Christian is playing stupid and already knows about the wedding:
Remember nobody knew where Stasia was going until she got there. Her own dad was told she was going to Alaska. So if Christian was at home in the States when he saw the news, there is no way he could have got to Africa in time to beat Stasia to the construction site. He had to have been there already for his own reasons, which makes me think its totally believable that he hasn’t seen the news yet.

Not too fond of comments, so this’ll be the only one. In short: Bobby, I’m addicted, and out of many webcomics I like yours the best; you keep it clean and yet the storyline is clear and original and interesting and absolutely wonderful in every way it could be.
And Eisu: Holy damnation is your art good. Everyone will agree, yes?

Page 1 was about 22 hours ago. In that time, Janny and Stasia have had full changes of clothes and Parker has received new pants. Guy appears to have not changed clothes yet, but he’s only been wearing them for like 24 hours.

I dunno… While panels four and five could be taken as offensive to someone who really was from the Make-a-Wish Foundation (which implies a slight insensitivity and an ‘as long as it’s not me’ attitude) , while the playfullishly immature hide-behind-the-back scene in the last panel is somewhat appealing… Christian intrigues me…. I know the chances of him turning out to be a butthead in the end are higher than not, but for right now, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt.
