Don't blame guy for asking "are we gonna have sex tonight?" because he's a guy and I'm no different I would ask the same thing ( I honnestly would)

I was ok with Guy asking if they were going to have sex; they are married after all. Or as Bobby likes to tell us think they are. I looked at his expression to determine how he meant it. He doesn't seem to be expecting it, he just wants to know. And, of course it's uncomfortable, THAT'S THE POINT! Guy is nervous, it occurred to him that he's married, and he asked; big deal!

just a random thought, but perhaps "Are we supposed to have sex tonight?" might be a way to soften the statement a hair without making it round about.

Mmm. The much debated statement threw me too, but more because I didn't expect it. I think it probably gives good insight into Guy's character that we weren't aware of up to this point, and that is held up by what I have read of the rest of the comic so far... i.e. that he is honest and straight forward.
...I'm female (in case you couldn't guess by the name) and yeah, that comment would have made me react... well, much as Stasia just did. But I bet she was wondering/dancing around the thought of what he was expecting, as he was about what she was expecting, so really, he just voiced something that needed to be voiced. ...maybe he could have picked a more tactful way, but hey, who can think about all these things on the fly?

Anywho, I'm finding this pretty fun so far. Can't wait to see where it will go.

Just want to say that Guy definitely did know what was on the sign. On Page 9 Parker held the sign directly in front of his face.

Good points overall, though, thanks!

I don't see anything wrong with Guy's question. Consider the situation from his point-of-view:

1) Thanks to numerous entertainment "news" shows, "reality" shows, behind the scenes specials, the media has crafted an image of famous artist taking part in drug-driven orgies as SOP. Entertainment programming is prevelent in our society, it is difficult to avoid even if one doesn't care. We don't know Stasia's reputation in the Media nor what Guy's pre-conceived notions about stars of Stasia's fame entail.

2) I have a strange feeling that Guy doesn't know what was on the sign that Parker handed him. If so, then from his point-of-view, Stasia picked him out of an audience of thousands seemingly at random.

3) Stasia has mentioned several times that they are now married and is spending time alone with him. If it was done as a publicity stunt, Guy would have been handed over to a lawyer, made to sign some papers and given a wad of cash. Also, I don't know if Guy has thought about the legal standing of the marriage. Stasia hasn't mentioned it and she is the one with all of the lawyers. As far as Guy can tell, even though Stasia married him on a lark, she is completely serious about being married.

4) There are no cultural guidelines for Guy to fall back on. In the US, there are actually very few guidelines to guide relationships from first meeting to marriage. Having sex on your wedding night is the closest guideline that he has, but it assumes that the couple actually loves one another (and knows each other's names) before getting married.

5) Its late. It was already dark out before the concert started and it seemed to take 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. It is too late to have a spur-of-the moment wedding reception. There isn't much of a buffer between now and bedtime.

Guy is in a very confusing situation. He has been dragged on stage and married to a sexy superstar who could have (and has had) her pick of men. He doesn't know why he has been singled out or what Stasia wants from him. Asking about sex would give him a very clear answer as too how serious Stasia is about their new relationship and what she expects of him.

If they were on their first date or had just meet in a nightclub, the question would have been crass. But they are married and talking about where to go from there is the mature thing to do.

Ha, Eisu's the best. Thanks, buddy. He covered it all even better than I could. And I want to echo what Dr. Jello said: "It’s just a QUESTION, for crying out loud. It’s not like it’s an expectation or anything. He’s CURIOUS." I totally fail to see where Russ and Outshined are coming from on this one. How could it make him look so bad when he's JUST WONDERING about something? Anyway, we've gone over this enough and a new page will be up very soon!

"Haven’t we already seen the sign on the front page in the relfection of the glasses?"

Yes, but that isn't actually what the sign what looks like. On Page 9 we saw that the sign is pink. Covers sometimes differ from what actually happens in the comic. For example, look at Stasia's outfit on the cover. She wasn't wearing that when the wedding took place.

And to c0rk: I use a lot of ums and uhs, especially in Marry Me, but I decided that it didn't fit right for that line. I saw him saying this line in two possible ways: One, he actually might have planned it out in his head a little beforehand and debated about whether he should say it and scripted it himself, trying to get it right, even adding the part about how he knew it would sound bad, and he almost didn't say it, but then decided to just go for it and spit it out. Or two, it popped into his head and he just said it instantly before he could think about it and take it back. And in either of those cases he'd say the line fast probably without the ums. I think if he said it slowly he'd probably stop himself before actually finishing the line.

No question but that we are learning Guy’s character, and I can see the “really awkward” idea as a possibility, but it still troubles me. The question he asked is unnecessary and uncomfortable.

Just wanna mention that at times, when you are at a "really awkward" situation, stuff just spews out of your mouth uncontrollably, unnecessary and uncomfortable as well... see, it troubles you, yes, cos Guy seems to be rude to ask that, but the thing is, it's a very strange situation... I've been in a whole bunch of strange situations and let me tell you, the stuff that pops out of your mouth in this situation is unbelievable... it's the stuff that you say and then moments later think to yourself, "Why the hell did I say that?!?" and beat yourself about it... me, personally, that's what I think Guy did, so that's why for me, this is absolutely NORMAL... like everyone said, who WOULDN'T be curious about that after they just married a famous pop star who is #2 on FHM's hot star list... #2!!! Out of a 100!!! Do you know the implications of marrying someone like that? The thing that flies through your head would be unbelievable, I'd gather...

Seriously, like most are saying, it's just a question... it seems rude to you but only cos you're an observer... if put in the same situation, who knows what you'll do, I don't and you probably don't either... when your heart races so fast and you're nervous and awkward, everything's unpredictable...

Okay, sorry about that, I'm mentioning more than I though I would...
