Page 16: I Like Pants

Friday, April 6th, 2007

I <3 Parker. Oh, and if you were wondering why Parker’s forum name is I’mYourLove, it’s in response to her favorite Stasia song, titled “Where’s My Love?”, which was mentioned on Page 15.

130 Responses to “Page 16: I Like Pants”

  1. KT Says:

i dont like this one bit!!!
i just started reading this today,
and i want to finsh it!
i LOVE this so far! love it with a
    passion!! parker is such
a freak, and guy is suck a cutie!
    he looks so lost sometimes,
    its awesomely amazing! keep up
    the good work peeps! you
    guys are kicking ace!

  2. Tibbar de Gniw Says:

Whoo, Parker really got to wear the pants. Betcha she’ll never ever tkae them off. xD

  3. Lydia Says:

…wow, 20k posts. ^__^ Her love for Stasia is deep.

  4. Death Dragon2 Says:

    ….I’m scared now.

  5. Swedish Girl Says:

omg omg omg! Parker is SO cute when she’s happy ^_^.. when will she tell them that Guy’s sign actually was hers? o_____O
That thing with the 20k posts is kinda freaky, tho.

  6. Nessa Says:

This is amazing like always. I feel pitty for Parker and Stasia, when she get to know that actually Guy didn’t want to marry her. But still Parker is making all of that very funny and crazy xD

  7. Bobby Crosby Says:

“when will she tell them that Guy’s sign actually was hers?”

Well she actually told Janny that on Page 14, but the bigger moment will be when Stasia finds out.

  8. Rune Says:

One thing, though - wouldn’t parker have signed the papers allready in her name? And if not, why did guy sign them since he obviously wouldn’t want to (as far as I can tell).

    Who did Stasia actually marry?

  9. Bobby Crosby Says:

Not sure what you mean exactly. Guy married Stasia while Parker was far away peeing behind a bush, watching it all from a giant screen. Also, it’s still possible that no papers were officially signed, but they did appear to all to get publicly married. And to answer the question about why Guy would go through with this, I’ll link to this again –

Read several of the comments after that as well, like THIS ONE.

  10. Quarion Says:

“Whoo, Parker really got to wear the pants. Betcha she’ll never ever tkae them off”

    except maybe to pee

  11. Tricia Says:

I’m not sure why, but I pretty much think that Janny is my favorite character. She has such a charm to her, she’s so… charging but in the good kidna of way? I’m not sure what I’m saying. Either way, I love this page.

  12. Robert Says:

Janny, Parker, and Guy are all great characters (though Janny seems to have got less pregnant since page 2, odd that?), you can instantly see the interest in all three. However I’m interested to see how Stasia will develop. You can see why Guy could be a romantic interest for Stasia, but at the moment Stasia remains a very dippy celebrity who wouldn’t really interest Guy, which is fine just now but I wonder how Stasia will be developed to make her a suitable interest for guy (unless of course Janny is the real romantic interest).

  13. Eisu Says:

Robert says: (though Janny seems to have got less pregnant since page 2, odd that?)

This is the cause of rushing the job and no real consistency skills ^o^

  14. JenG Says:

Am I the only one who doesn’t “heart” Parker? She’s okay, but I want to see more of the true heart of the story, the “marrieds” of Marry Me.

  15. ThatOneChick Says:

    “The pants, they fit, right?”
    “I… like… pants…”

xDD I have no words. ♥

  16. Valerie Says:

“’Whoo, Parker really got to wear the pants. Betcha she’ll never ever tkae them off’

    except maybe to pee”

    Awesome. XD *High-fives*

I love the comic you guys! Parker is so ♥able.^^ She’s so cute in the last panel!

“Can I keep these forever and always?” XD

  17. Mikaru Says:

    So amazing!

    Best page in weeks =D

  18. Chapree Da Grande Says:

I can feel that Parker’s heart said “Stacia’s pants for the win!” XD

  19. Namsab Says:

Argh, I missed the page T_T stupid holidays XD

She got the pants! A wonder she can still talk and breathe normally.. I’d hyperventilate. xD

The 20k post thing is an awesome idea. :B

  20. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Am I the only one who doesn’t ‘heart’ Parker?”

    Yes.

    “Best page in weeks =D”

Glad to see a couple comments like this, since I actually think it’s probably the worst page in the book so far. Just not funny enough to warrant stopping the forward progress of the story for a full page, and the dialogue just didn’t flow well in general. But oh well, not too bad, I guess.

“The 20k post thing is an awesome idea.”

Cool, thanks. I did like that part.

  21. Stromjir Says:

“Can I keep these forever and always”

    Excellent comic. :P

  22. FreeSample Says:

Hmmm.. Janny on second panel looked like an old lady. But what impresses me most is that Parker, being number 1 fan of stasia, never saw her in person!

  23. Duckity Says:

    Parker looks so adorable. xD

  24. Tibbar de Gniw Says:

Oooooh, yes. Pee-pants Parker would never ever want to get piss on pants that have been graced by Stacia’s touch.
And Parker is so lovable, main character or not. ^^

  25. Bobby Crosby Says:

Just to let you know, Parker would get third billing. Goes like this –

    Stasia
    Guy
    Parker
    Janny
    Joey
    A few other people
    Denny
    Gary
    Stanley
    Other people

  26. absolutirony Says:

JenG: just so you know, I’m not Parker’s biggest fan, either. She’s fun, and cooky–but I think for me it will hinge on how she reacts to Guy once she sees him again. I’ll get a better idea of her depth of character then. Right now she just comes off as a bit too obsessed and scary for me! Though since she is somewhere I’m sure she’s been dreaming about being for a long time-I can almost understand.

Bobby & Eisu: can’t wait to see how everything turns out! I’m very happy now I was bored that one night and happened upon No Pink Ponnies which directed me here. I’m enjoying both one heck of a lot, so thank you!

  27. Wrath the Sin Says:

If Parker did what I think she did in those pants in panel 2, I don’t think Stasia’s gonna want them back. I love parker, and would have to whack an exec if they cut her from the movie. ^__^ She’d definately my favorite character so far.

Love the comic so far, and found it through No Pink Ponies, another awesome comic. Keep up the good work!

  28. Nessa Says:

And I say one more thing! I love Guy. he is soooo my type ;) Keep up the good work :)

  29. cash Says:

I’m surprised Gary isn’t on your list ;)

Hmm this page ist kind of geeky. I guess that 20k post thing won’t make into the movie.. But i think it fits into a web-comic =)

  30. KittyKat Says:

*laughs hysterically* Wow, am I the only one thinking Parker’s doing a little too much “pants love” in the second panel? :P

So that’s what it takes to get into your idol’s pants, eh? *snicker*

Keep up the fabulous work, guys!

  31. Bobby Crosby Says:

Yeah, there’s a reason we’re not seeing her hands there.

  32. Lydia Says:

    Posting again…

Just a note, I REALLY like Jan’s expression in the second panel. Awkward? Also, Parker seems slightly embarassed about her Stasia-nerdom… when questioned about her post count. She’s a cutie.

  33. Lorelai Says:

    Cute page.
I love the 20k postage of Parker’s. It’s totally something that I would do. Perhaps not to a pop star, but on a geeky sort of fansite. ;D

And I have to make a comment on the poster from the previous pages, known as ‘j’.

“no way i wold suck up to this pice of trash”

If I was attempting to make a point by saying I didn’t care for the style of art/writing, I would attempt to spell correctly. You would think that people who write comments such as those, would realise that not very many people are going to take someone who cannot spell the words ‘piece’ and ‘would’ correctly, very seriously.

    Just my thoughts.

  34. ThatOneChick Says:

Lorelai? I think I love you a little. You said what I’d like to say, only without ranting. xD

  35. Dmitriy Says:

“Am I the only one who doesn’t ‘heart’ Parker?”

I hate her too. I hope she dies.

  36. Bobby Crosby Says:

    LOL.

  37. Shay Says:

I just started reading this, and I’m very interested in seeing where it goes. Nice art and good characters so far, so keep it up!

  38. Syrth Says:

    BOB say:
Yeah, there’s a reason we’re not seeing her hands there.

DO we really want to know why???? It might explain why Jannie has the weird look on her face.

  39. Bobby Crosby Says:

Ha, I was just joking around, playing off of what KittyKat said.

  40. K.C.(NPP forum member I'm a Pony) Says:

First and foremost: KT, you are a tag thief. You bitch.[/sarcasticmokeryness]

Anyway… gottat say the chances are slim they will ever want those back anyways. There are just some things drycleaning cannot undo. The everlasting… enjoyment of the over-obbsessed can’t be washed awa by mortal hands.

  41. Bobby Crosby Says:

It was also the last concert of the tour and on Page 2 Stasia said, “At least this is the last time I have to wear this.”

  42. K.C.(NPP forum member I'm a Pony) Says:

I just read the comments(sorry, had to post and skipped over them). For those that have read my name, I created the “I’m a Pony” account as a bit of a joke after Eisu made a comment on his own solo comic ‘No Pink Ponies’. He was talking about how it would be awesome if Sinfest Fans were called ‘Sinners’ and was questioning weather or not to refer to NPP fans as ‘His Ponnies’, I belive it was. If I remeber correctly, the comments post ended in “Where’s my Ponnies?”.

Needless to say, givin the comments by Bobby, I threw up a little upon this terrifing realization.

  43. jstuckey Says:

Cute storyline so far, love the art, and character development going well. Parker is a bit freaky but funny with her otaku behavior but i think the main story of an impulsive couple getting married is gonna be a blast. Just hope guy isn’t going to be so laid back to let their lives be too complicated.

  44. Gretchen Says:

    oh…my…goodness.
    parker….is a very special person.
that character is just phenomenal all around.
    love!
however (I’m sure this has been answered I Just missed it) is parker a lesbian? or a really over obsessed fan that doesn’t care about the gender? so confoosed. =(

  45. Bobby Crosby Says:

Parker’s a lesbian, yes, as Page 17 will specifically mention. And I’m sorry to say that it most likely won’t be up until Wednesday. Sorry! Also, this one’s entirely my fault, so don’t blame Eisu!

  46. StevenW Says:

The pants look rather different on Parker than they did on Stasia, I must say.

  47. Eisu Says:

Parker’s not wearing the belt that Stasia was wearing.

  48. batgirl Says:

*snort* I like pants *giggle* I love her face in that panel and the last one *rofl* bwhahahahahahaha

  49. Mikaru Says:

Bobby: I guess it wouldn’t be the best page in weeks if Parker wasn’t so adorable.

  50. Shlippy Says:

I can just imagine Parkers post

“OMG, I GOT INTO STASIA’S PANTS!”

  51. Macy Says:

    I also like the PANTS….. ^^

  52. Macy Says:

I also like the PANTS….. ^^ Parker is my favourite coz she is soooo funnny.. hihihi ^^

  53. Harmonious D Says:

This is the funniest stuff I’ve ever seen, it’s great :)

  54. emmy Says:

    wow…

this must be a new comic…

    really good

    …..

but umm one question: how can some one hold their bladder for that long?

  55. Rollo Says:

    “…as Page 17 will specifically mention…”
    *mildly shaking head*
Bobby, Bobby… only cars need spoilers to gain velocity. This comic doesn’t. As I said before, trust your talent of storytelling, just spin your yarn. When we, your humble and highly satisfied audience, try some guesses and discuss open questions, we don’t need answers that will be given!
Having said that, I can only repeat the old song we all sing here: good work, Eisu and Bobby, we are soooo entertained, give us more! Please, please, please?

  56. StevenW Says:

Eisu Says: Parker’s not wearing the belt that Stasia was wearing.

Heh, it wasn’t the belt, it was the cut-out bit. From page 2 onwards (Pep Talk) the cut-out bit gets bigger and bigger, lol.

Sorry, I hope this is still sounding like constructive criticism! I can’t help myself, its all that mod-testing and reviews. I am definitely liking Bobby’s script and your artwork so far, so I’ll shut up if you like…

  57. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Bobby, Bobby… only cars need spoilers to gain velocity. This comic doesn’t.”

But it wasn’t a spoiler that means anything at all. It’s fairly obvious that at the very least she’s bi-sexual, I thought, and it’s not an important line or anything in Page 17 when it mentions that she’s a lesbian.

“Sorry, I hope this is still sounding like constructive criticism!”

No problem. I noticed the same thing actually, although I didn’t go back to check. Not a big deal.

“but umm one question: how can some one hold their bladder for that long?”

MAGIC. Also, the comic didn’t say exactly how long it’s been. Her mind was so preoccupied with Stasia thoughts that she couldn’t think of anything else, even peeing!

  58. Death Dragon2 Says:

“Yeah, there’s a reason we’re not seeing her hands there.”

Now I’m TERRIFIED. And glad that I’m not of the fairer sex.

  59. Caramel Says:

Aw, Parker looks so adorable in the last panel!! ^^

  60. Orinocou Says:

This comic is off to a great start. Sixteen pages and already I’m a fan! I also think that the artist did a great job on the different camera angles (like in panel 3). It makes for a more visually interesting layout.

  61. Tama Chan Says:

Just started reading the comic today and I absolutely love it, I can’t wait for the next page.

  62. pero Says:

been reading the comic since about page 6.. first post so far.

gotta say it’s pretty obvious that Parker is at least bi

    she is one craaaaaaaaaaazy bird.

  63. marcie Says:

this comic is pretty funny so far. I’m not really sure if you could turn it into a screenplay with what you have thus far though. IF you made it into an animated film I would definitely see it.

  64. TwistedLilium Says:

great comic! its so funny xD cant wait for the next update ^^

  65. Kichan Says:

    OMG! Sweet art!
Do you have a DevART site??
if you do, could you post the link or something? Your art is amazing.

  66. Valerie Says:

I KNEW that someone was gonna make a joke about Parker getting into Stasia’s pants! I just sort of wonder if it’ll be worded that way in the comic at some point. XD

And I’m so glad that Parker’s in the top three to be cast! I still ♥ that crazy chick! Can’t wait for the next update, guys^^

  67. Cypher Says:

Interesting comic. Its been pretty awesome so far. I just found it yesterday (there was an ad on a webcomic I read- forget which one, though.)Its been pretty awesome so far- its pretty much jumped to my top 3 comics in terms of wanting to read the next one (I have 20 that I read regularily, now including this….).

20K posts…. Holy crap, thats a lot… I’ve been on several different forums for years and I don’t think I’ve even reached 10 thousand on all of them combined.

Well, can;t wait to see the next few pages… I really want to see more Stasia and Guy…

Every time a comic goes up late, 500 exploding penguins are thrown at orphaned kittens. When they go up on time, they’re thrown at (-insert target disliked demographic-).

  68. Kohaku Says:

Can i just say that y’all are doing a great job! I’m not a comic expert or anything, but i’m kinda particular about what i read, and i love it so far!
Not a big fan of Parker. It’s not that i don’t like the character, but if she were a real person, our personalities would clash horribly. If Parker, Guy, and I were friends, Guy would constantly have to play peacemaker.
I AM a big fan of Guy. He’s adorable. Favorite character so far.
    This is gonna be fun!

  69. Eisu Says:

Heh, it wasn’t the belt, it was the cut-out bit. From page 2 onwards (Pep Talk) the cut-out bit gets bigger and bigger, lol.

Oh wow, I didn’t even realise that… now that I look back at it, the original cut out IS small… oh well, easily fixed…

  70. Keito Says:

Maybe the stitching came out and the seams are ripping… :P

“Every time a comic goes up late, 500 exploding penguins are thrown at orphaned kittens.”

Maybe Stasia should donate to the Society for Happier Kittens! Or Homeless Kittens. Or something.

  71. Cypher Says:

What about the poor exploding Prinny penguins? No one loves exploding penguins?

Now eagerly awaiting Friday (despite having an exam that day)

  72. Angie Says:

I absolutely LOVE this comic, so far! The characters are great! I can’t wait to read more of this!!

  73. Kevin Says:

Very good comic so far, but… how did they have the whole wedding while Parker was peeing? They had to find a priest, perform the ceremony, sign the papers… they did that all with time for her to still pee on her pants? If this is going to be a movie, that scene needs to be reworked to be logical timewise.

  74. darkie Says:

    lovely comic…!! lovely story…!! i would wait for more…
    truth is… i’m craving.
you both managed to make Guy loved… and Parker is such a cute character - just like some friends of mine. and Stasia reminds me of one of my friend’s fave guitarist, since he has more or less the same problem with stasia.
    Great. 2 thumbs up.

  75. Bobby Crosby Says:

Kevin: First, here’s a little more info — CLICK.

“If this is going to be a movie, that scene needs to be reworked to be logical timewise.”

It doesn’t, no. Look at Page 10. Panel 5 takes place 1-3 minutes after Panel 4.

“but… how did they have the whole wedding while Parker was peeing?”

A couple things wrong with that. First, why do you assume they had the whole wedding? The priest could have easily just arrived up on stage in Panel 5, which could conceivably happen within a minute or so of Guy being called up on stage. Second, why would that all have to happen while Parker is still in the act of peeing? I don’t understand that. Parker starts peeing, right? Then she sees Stasia call Guy up on stage on the big screen and she stands up to watch and her emotions quickly escalate as she sees what’s going on and she totally forgets that she’s peeing, but it doesn’t really matter how long the actual urination went on. When she asks herself if she forgot to stop peeing, she just means before standing up, which she did almost instantly after seeing Stasia call for Guy to come up on stage.

The plan for the movie is that this sequence would be all dreamy, the camera spinning around Parker probably as she gets all light headed, going in for close ups of her crazed eyes as we just vaguely hear some stuff going on in the background (the wedding), condensing a 3-5 minute scene into 20 or 30 seconds just of Parker’s reaction, without actually seeing what she saw (or not all of it at least, just little snippets). But as I’ve said before, we will see what she saw, and more, eventually.

  76. Veralidaine Sarrasri Says:

I just started this comic today. I found the link in an ad while reading another comic, and I love it! The art is awesome. ^^ The characters are so fun, and the story is brilliant. I can’t wait to read more of it!

  77. Gretchen Says:

Love the way you described that scene Eisu.
    Big fan…just lik everybody else…*laughs*

  78. Gretchen Says:

    BOBBY sry….that wsn’t Eisu…..

  79. totz Says:

I’m glad my computer’s up and running again. I missed reading this comic.

I LOVE Parker. She is one of my all-time favorite characters. Page 15 with Stasia and Guy was great (I wish this had worked in time for me to comment that…) and I’m more than looking forward to where this is going.

Did Parker know Denny’s name btw?

Oh and Eisu? Please bring back NPP.

Did I mention how much I love Parker?

  80. Bobby Crosby Says:

Nah, Parker didn’t know Denny’s name. New guy maybe!

  81. Pickle Says:

WOW just surfing through webcomics late at night when i clicked a link to this through ‘Redstring’. WOW. seriously…… WOW. lol. awesome comic u have here. keep it up! instant fan. (wheres my marryme poster….)

  82. Kirin Says:

Nitpicking, but does anyone else find it weird that Parker has 20k forum posts and is obviously a completely psychotic fan, yet has never once managed to see Stasia in person? Music celebs as popular as that tend to make a lot of public appearances, and psychotic fans tend to find ways to get to them, even if they’re poor. Just seems odd. I know Stasia was supposed to have been in school recently, but has it really been *that* long since she last toured; long enough ago that Parker was too young to get out of the house or something?

Meanwhile, continuing mad props to Eisu on the art.

  83. totz Says:

Oh, and to Kevin: re-read the scenes in Macbeth between when Duncan is assassinated and Malcolm and Donalbain flee, and think about how little sense that timeline makes.

  84. Bobby Crosby Says:

I’ve heard that a few times now about how Parker hasn’t met her yet, and there could be somewhere around a trillion reasons for why that’s the case. Also, it doesn’t take long at all to get 20,000 posts if you’re a psycho fan (18 months is very reasonable for that) and maybe she didn’t even become a huge fan until recently, until after Stasia’s previous tour ended. Parker was probably a big fan, but not huge, for several years, then started reading up on Stasia one day, probably accidentally so while in the process of simply searching for pictures of her online, and then found her forums and joined and found out a lot of cool stuff about Stasia, and on Stasia’s official forums she probably did an official chat with her fans every once in a while and Parker got to actually ask her questions and get responses, and that could all very quickly escalate her mania.

  85. CoyoteKing Says:

It’s actually not that hard to get 20,000+ posts in under a year. I joined a forum about a year and a half ago (maybe two years), this particular forum keeps jumping around a lot, some of the sites get shut down sometimes it just moves for seemingly no reason. And anyways, I managed to reach almost 25K+ in I’d say about 7 or so months.

You have to have absolutely no social life though, and post really meaningless topics almost constantly.

  86. Bobby Crosby Says:

Agreed. I got over 1,500 posts on the PokerXFactor.com forums in my first two months on there, I think.

  87. lightdefender Says:

Interestingly enough, over on the napalmluck forums (www.napalmluck.com; someone posted a link to this comic recently, which is how I found it) we have someone who joined the forum in November who will probably hit 10,000 posts in another day or so. So, yeah, it’s possible to get hugely insane post counts in a relatively short amount of time.

Oh, yeah, Bobby, sorry about the soul thing, but it’s become something of a tradition on those forums to greet new people by stealing their souls . . . and I think you’d rather have me mark yours and give it back than have it wind up in a display case, or part of somebody’s Evil Fortress, or eaten, or what have you.

  88. Bobby Crosby Says:

    No problem, sounds good.

  89. Jason Says:

Great stuff! I can’t wait to see more! The sad thing is, I’ve been on a few band forums and people do have that many posts…and they do make a big deal out of their “1000th” post, or “10000th” post. Keep up the terrific work. I posted this link on a pro-cartoonist forum so you’ll be sure to get more fans.

  90. Dangerism Says:

Sorry if I either sound like an arse, or a geek. I’m assuming I’myourlove is the name Stasia is using on the forum is as spelt (because you didn’t use spaces). But as K.C. (aka ImAPony) on the NPP forum might attest, it’s highly improbable to use an apostrophe in user names for a lot of web forums. Not that it’s impossible, clever coding by highly skilled webmasters may overcome this problem, but usually nobody would bother the hassle to do so. Just my geeky 10 cents…

If this was a mistake by Eisu, then say so. I’ll clobber him instead. ;)

  91. Caitlin Says:

    Those pants look cold 0_o

  92. Bobby Crosby Says:

Dangerism: No mistake, no! You say yourself that clever coding can overcome it, but it doesn’t matter either way. It’s a spoken line and all that matters is what the audience hears. I made it all one word just to make it clear that she’s saying her forum name and not crazily telling Janny that she’s her love. And without the apostrophe it would be read/pronounced incorrectly by some and would confuse people, which is the worst thing possible, and it would make most people think it was an error to leave it out. There was no other option, really, but to use the apostrophe. Also, it’s Parker’s name, not Stasia’s.

  93. j Says:

aww the hack defends his work how sweet

  94. ThatOneChick Says:

Aww, the troll pretends to be smart, how sweet…
    Dx
Oh wait! What’s this you say?
    It actually THINKS it’s smart?
I think there are pills for that.

  95. DameonDark Says:

well lets see its now sunday and no comic, for some reason i feel compelled to watch this train wreck of a comic i’m not even that interested in… i might come back to it once you have more posted but as it stands it has left me bored and doubting its value or worth

  96. Bobby Crosby Says:

Edited the update in the original post.

  97. ThatOneChick Says:

    Wow! Another potential troll!
Bobby, Eisu, your story’s really popular.
    ^^
Although DD sound an awful lot like J…

Hey, DD, it’s only fair to warn you that nothing you say, valid or not, will be taken seriously from this point on.
You know, some people have lives.
    Like school.
    Or work.
    Amazing concept, non?

  98. Bobby Crosby Says:

Well, Dameon has a point at least, since the update on the post did say there’d definitely be a page on Friday (and then Saturday too), which was wrong. And it does say “NEW PAGE EVERY M-W-F” right up top, although I’ve said in the blog at times that the goal is only 2.5 pages per week. Some people do complain too much about such things, though, and I don’t see how missing updates hurts the “value or worth” of the comic in any way. It doesn’t affect what’s on the page.

  99. ThatOneChick Says:

    ^^ My point exactly.

I’m just thinking the way he stated it could have been a bit more, I dunno, polite.
    Less flame-y, maybe.
    -shrugs-

  100. Chapin Says:

    2.5 pages per week.
I forget if this comic was from Monday or last Friday… (I think Monday)

Anyways, if it was Monday, just hit 14 pages, (3,3,3,3,2 in any order) in the next 5 weeks, and that gives you 15 comics over 6 weeks, or 2.5 pages per week, just as you said you’d do. Might be a bit of work, but keeps your 2.5 promise, and shuts up the stupid trolls, who really have nothing better to do in their lives than post about comics that they “don’t care about.”

I dunno… there’s billions of pages on the web that I don’t care about, and I don’t post on a single one. The only pages that I post on are ones I care about, even if it’s out of hate for some reason. So whatever these idiots say, they care in one way or another.

  101. Bobby Crosby Says:

Well the 2.5 isn’t a promise — just a goal. But yeah, we’re definitely gonna start updating it a lot more often.

  102. lightdefender Says:

On the name issue: While login names tend to be limited to certain characters, some forum systems allow a different display name, and the display name has no such limitation. Thus, it becomes possible to use spaces, apostrophes, or anything else one might want for the display name, even though this is not possible for the login name.

  103. Quarion Says:

Wrath: “I love parker, and would have to whack an exec if they cut her from the movie.”

I don’t think they could cuz then how would Guy and Stasia even meet? Parker was the one who dragged him to the consert in the first place so I don’t think we have to worry about her getting cut.

Rollo: “I can only repeat the old song we all sing here”

    We have a song? Sweet!

sorry about posting quote opinions so far from the originals but I don’t read the comments all that often and I felt I needed to comment when I read them.

and also, I don’t think I’ll ever understand someone like J. If you dislike the comic that much, why are you still reading? If I’m going to comment on something I dislike because I feel very strongly about it (doesn’t happen often just cuz I’m a fairly amiable guy) I post once and then I don’t bother comming back.

  104. MobiusZero Says:

    thats what I called a real NO.1 fan…( Parker ). ( ”,)

  105. Kate Says:

Hehe. 20k posts skill makes me giggle.

I got 1000 posts in two weeks once on a roleplay forum. :D

  106. Valerie Says:

Well, Quarion, you know that thing that they taught us all when we were little? “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”? I guess J just didn’t listen to his mommy. (Though it IS annoying that he keeps coming back…)

  107. PP~ Says:

Awesome, love the comic so far! Please continue it!!

  108. pero Says:

Jeez Kate.. what kind of roleplay are we looking at here? D&D.. or something less PG?

  109. totz Says:

I think it’d be best if she left us to wonder. Besides, it could be something totally G-rated as well. (I’m thinking PG-13 myself).

  110. totz Says:

    (For fantasy violence.)

  111. Kevin Says:

“Kevin: First, here’s a little more info — CLICK.”

Your explanation there, and I’m sorry if this seems offensive, is “It doesn’t make sense, and I can’t think of a better way to do it so I’m not going to try.” I’m sure with some effort you could come up with a realistic time structure. Also, your post there contradicts what you say to me, where you are claiming the chronology somehow is logical.

“It doesn’t, no. Look at Page 10. Panel 5 takes place 1-3 minutes after Panel 4.”

Right, and the implication is she is still peing at least into panel 5, and possibly further on. She stays in the bush until panel 6, presumably peeing the whole time. Since she doesn’t move until panel 6, she shouldn’t have accidentally peed in her pants. She would have peed in her pants when she stood up - after, you’re claiming, no more than three minutes. I don’t know anyone who pees for over three solid minutes, but even that is too short for the scene to have taken place.

“First, why do you assume they had the whole wedding?”
Because they are legally married! Because there were papers and a priest! Unless the priest was already onstage with the papers ready to be signed, and they only exchanged vows and had no other ceremony, the whole thing should have taken at least ten minutes, and probably considerably longer. The way the page is set up, it looks like she remains still in the bush until panel 6, suggesting she is peeing for at least that long.

“When she asks herself if she forgot to stop peeing, she just means before standing up, which she did almost instantly after seeing Stasia call for Guy to come up on stage.”
She doesn’t visually stand up until panel 6. She IS visibly standing up in panel 6 (look at the lines), which wouldn’t be happening if she already stood up in panel three or four.

  112. Kevin Says:

I’m not saying they had a long thing with bridegrooms and walking down the aisle, but three minutes is ridiculous.

  113. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Your explanation there, and I’m sorry if this seems offensive, is ‘It doesn’t make sense, and I can’t think of a better way to do it so I’m not going to try.’ I’m sure with some effort you could come up with a realistic time structure.”

There isn’t a problem with the realism of the time structure. The problem is with it just being a very uncomfortable and awkward scene which would take too long to show live in real time and which would make the characters seem like total morons before we’ve even gotten to know them, as I explained in the long post that I linked to.

“Also, your post there contradicts what you say to me, where you are claiming the chronology somehow is logical.”

It doesn’t contradict anything and I never said the chronology was illogical — I said it was too long to show in real time on screen, among many other reasons not to show it live. And when I say “it” I mean the ENTIRE WEDDING and everything that goes with that, not simply what we’re seeing on Page 10, which is simply the arrival of the priest on the stage and nothing after that.

“Right, and the implication is she is still peing at least into panel 5, and possibly further on.”

No, there’s no implication of that — you’re simply assuming too much, as you do often, which I’ll get into a little later.

“She stays in the bush until panel 6, presumably peeing the whole time.”

No. She stays STANDING behind the bush until Panel 6, but shortly after she says “Guy?” in Panel 4 is when she stood up, still in the act of peeing, long before Panel 5, which is 1-3 minutes after Panel 4.

“Since she doesn’t move until panel 6, she shouldn’t have accidentally peed in her pants.”

When we’re only seeing a close up of her face in Panel 4 and then the back of her head in Panel 5, why would you assume that she didn’t stand up until Panel 6?

“I don’t know anyone who pees for over three solid minutes, but even that is too short for the scene to have taken place.”

Please explain that. Stasia calls Guy up on stage — he’s on stage 15 seconds later. She says yes, she’ll marry him. She half jokingly asks if there’s a priest in the crowd. One is produced instantly and ushered up on stage. This can all happen within one minute pretty easily and obviously could happen in well under three.

I said, “First, why do you assume they had the whole wedding?” and then you said, “Because they are legally married! Because there were papers and a priest!”

Two huge things wrong with that. For one, all that matters is what the situation is in Panel 5 when we see them up on stage and no, they were definitely NOT already married there and why would you assume that? The priest is simply standing up on stage next to them, as I said in my previous response to you. He could have arrived on stage five seconds earlier. Why do you assume the ceremony is over already just because we see a priest? Second, there’s absolutely no reason to assume they’re legally married. And why do you assume there were papers? And please don’t say that Stasia said she signed the papers, because she has no clue what the heck happened. She was in a total daze.

“The way the page is set up, it looks like she remains still in the bush until panel 6, suggesting she is peeing for at least that long.”

First she was crouching BEHIND A BUSH, then she stood up BEHIND A BUSH, then in Panel 6 she angrily walked forward past/through the bush. Once again, to make it very clear, she stands up maybe one second after saying “Guy?” in Panel 4, continues peeing for 10-20 seconds or however long it takes, while watching Guy go up onto the stage, they call for the priest and he arrives in the next 30 seconds to two minutes, then we see Panel 5.

“She doesn’t visually stand up until panel 6. She IS visibly standing up in panel 6 (look at the lines), which wouldn’t be happening if she already stood up in panel three or four.”

You got me there, though. Didn’t notice those lines until now. That was a panel that Eisu added on his own, which wasn’t in the script, because he wanted to see Parker walking past the bush instead of cutting directly to her looking back at it. Those lines do make it seem like she’s just standing up right then, but I actually meant for her to be standing in Panel 5, and I think it does look like she’s standing in Panel 5, with the way her hands are on her head. Would be a very awkward pose to do that if she was still crouching down.

Anyway, even if she was just standing up there in Panel 6, the timeline can work fine. After not peeing for DAYS, she could easily pee for over a minute, probably two minutes, and that fits just fine, especially in a wacky comedy like this. The main reason you seem to be confused by it is that you keep assuming that the wedding is over in Panel 5, when in reality the priest just arrived on stage. He could have easily been sitting in the front row and he gets on stage 20 seconds after Guy did.

I love this comic. I can’t wait until the next page so I can find out what’s going to happen with all these characters!

  115. DameonDark Says:

    hey ThatOneChick,

i put in 15-16 hour long days in a college and then still have to find time for homework and assignments and once and a while *like once a week* find time to sleep…

trust me i know what busy is…

okay i’m not going to turn this into a pissing contest or a rant but i guess it seems like it so i might as well continue on…

    *thinks for a second*

ah you know what its not worth my precious time to bother…

  116. Ratatusk Says:

Guys, if you don’t want to continue work on this comic just say so… :]

  117. ThatOneChick Says:

Ah, sorry. Dx That was really childish of me, DD.

    Being, y’know, a teen.
    -shrugs-
    Sorry. Really.

  118. DameonDark Says:

ThatOneChick, thats alright seems we got off on the wrong foot so you want to agree on a cease fire here ;) ?

  119. Kevin Says:

Okay, obviously you’re just going to blindly defend yourself no matter how little sense you’re making, so this isn’t really worth arguing over.

  120. Nara Says:

I love both of Bobby’s comix and I found them through No Pink Ponies which I always check every week. And yes, it does suck that the updates haven’t been punctual (not so much Marry Me, its only been a week ppl!), but since no one PAYS to get to see these wonderful stories unfold no one really has right to be WHINY when things don’t run smoothly. Just sit tight and enjoy the ride, or go somewhere else. I personally enjoy Eisu’s prodigious gift of drawing expressions too much to ever give up.
That said, I am also in mourning of The Exile series demise. :(

  121. Kris Says:

Kevin, you’re just trying to make the comic seem like there are holes when there aren’t - give it up already.
Besides, even if YOU think it’s impractical, you might want to keep in mind that this is fiction and comedy. You don’t have to take everything so seriously. Get over yourself.
If you don’t like it, don’t read it.

  122. Kris Says:

Also, as having just reread page 10 to maybe TRY and see your point, Kevin (which I still don’t see, mind you), I realized something about those lines in Panel 6: I believe that it was Eisu’s way of showing that Parker was going to run back inside, possibly, not necessarily stand up, since she already had been standing for a few panels. Or it could have just been a motion of surprise, like when you lean forward when something interesting happens or is said.

  123. Ajenda Says:

Is there really any reason to be arguing with the creator about his own comic?

  124. AmericanNinjaX Says:

    Timeline issue solved.

If you’ve ever been to a concert and LOOKED for the bathroom. You can understand how long this takes. Secondly she ended up finding a bush far enough away that monitors are required. She then has to make her way back to the stadium, back towards where she was and finally backstage to find Guy, Stasia, Denny and Janny. All in all this could very well take up to 30 minutes considering locating places as well as working her tiny self through a massive gyrating crowd.

In 30 minutes you can have a wedding, sign papers and even break up. Plenty of time.

Last point of interest. This is entertainment. Not reality. Nitpicking something that is a collaborative effort between two creative people is pointless and detrimental to the creative flows. Eisu and Bobby are creating something for free, for entertainment and are providing it at professional level quality. So honestly…give’em a break and let them make a comic that you can either enjoy or not. If not, then really what purpose are you truly serving by getting upset or chastising the creators?

  125. ThatOneChick Says:

Cease Fire sounds good to me, DD.
Also, it’d be easier to call me Candii.
    Or Chick. -shrugs-
    XD

Aaaand yeah, what AMX said. [/abbreviations of DHOOM]

  126. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Okay, obviously you’re just going to blindly defend yourself no matter how little sense you’re making, so this isn’t really worth arguing over.”

That makes absolutely no sense. Please answer my questions about why you assumed the wedding was already over in Panel 5 when there’s 100 percent obviously NO REASON to think that. And if I’m blindly defending myself, why in the world did I admit that the art actually does show that you’re right about how Parker stands up in Panel 6??? It wasn’t my intent for that to happen and it was the only panel so far in the entire book that wasn’t scripted, but it still shows you to be correct about at least one small aspect of what you were saying and I fully admitted that. You’re welcome for actually responding to your nonsense.

  127. Raven Says:

WOW… gosh I’m tearing up that’s so funny! love the comic keep it up

  128. BilhoZIX Says:

    Great comic..i’m loving it..:)

any updates on the next page?

    keep up the amazing work..:)

  129. Lydia Says:

Kevin is just trying to be a smartass… on the internet… by bashing the time line of a romantic comedy genre webcomic.

One thing’s for sure, here’s a guy who ISN’T as busy as the rest of us. I think you should give it up, Bobby. He’s probably not responding because he ran out of things to say and had to go looking for another webcomic to over-analyze.

  130. Jo Says:

    I… like… pants… too.
    LOVE THIS COMIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
